FAQ

How old does my dog have to be?

Dogs from 12 weeks can enjoy the day or holidays with us. We recommend starting with one day a week for puppies and slowly increasing as needed. All necessary vaccinations must be done upon entry.

Are dogs in heat welcome?

Unfortunately, we cannot take care of dogs in heat, as we do not have kennels. Dogs that come into heat during a holiday stay must be picked up within 24 hours.

Are unneutered dogs welcome?

Of course, unneutered male dogs are also welcome with us, provided they feel comfortable with us and are compatible with other dogs, especially other male dogs. Unneutered female dogs are welcome provided they are not in heat.

Are older dogs also welcome?

Older dogs in particular often suffer from separation anxiety, and with us they don't have to spend the day alone. We accept all dogs as long as they feel comfortable with us. If intensive medical care is required, this has to be discussed individually.

Where is the meeting point to hand over my dog?

We meet at Landhaus, directly at Schaffhausen train station. In the morning between 7:40 and 8:10 am, in the evening between 5:30 and 6 pm

Why is the trial day necessary?

We want to make sure that every dog feels comfortable with us. On the trial day, we make sure that your dog feels at home in the group and in our open play environment.

What do you do in bad weather?

When the weather gets too cold, too hot, or too wet, we spend more time indoors. Because all dogs like different temperatures, we have plenty of quality coats and when the weather is hot we fill up paddling pools and there are plenty of shaded areas and of course water bowls available.

Which dogs can stay for holiday with you?

Overnight guests are part of our family - so overnight places are very limited. We always give preference to our regular daycare guests, other dogs can also be welcomed at short notice, subject to availability and after a trial day.

Where does my dog stay when he vacations with you?

We have NO kennels or boxes - your dog will sleep like our own dogs in our bedroom or living room, where many cozy dog beds, sofas and dens are available.

What does my dog need for an overnight stay?

We have enough comfortable beds of all kinds - so your dog doesn't have to bring a bed. We recommend bringing your dog’s favorite blanket for a cozy feeling. We also ask you to pack enough food for your best friend to prevent an upset stomach - an abrupt change of food can lead to serious digestive problems for your dog!

Should I bring my own food?

For daycare guests:

your dog eats their breakfast at home before they come to us, so that the fun can start right away.

For puppies and young dogs who still eat lunch, you are welcome to bring a daily portion that we are happy to serve.

For overnight guests:

we ask you to pack your dog's usual food to prevent upset tummies.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please contact us as early as possible by email or phone if a cancellation is necessary.

Cancellation of daycare:

Cancellation of holiday care:

We ask you to cancel holiday bookings at least two weeks in advance.

What vaccinations does my dog need?

All standard vaccinations must be refreshed regularly.

Bordetella: In addition to the standard vaccination against kennel cough, we also recommend nasal vaccination against kennel cough.

In addition, regular flea prevention must be done on all dogs.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

What if my dog needs medication on a regular basis?

Please pack any necessary medication in your dog's overnight bag, preferably with a few extra doses in case your return is delayed. Please include detailed instructions on how to administer the medication and your veterinarian's contact details.

  • Elvis

As an elderly gentleman, Elvis enjoys some peace and quiet. After the holidays with you he was relaxed and not stressed. The daily photos of chilling and walking helped us to enjoy our vacation.

  • Uma

Uma stayed with Nadja and Pascal when I had to go to the hospital for an extended stay. As she is a very anxious dog I was glad to see how relaxed she looked in the daily pictures.
